SAP Business Objects Release Notes
What are the Release Notes?
The SAP BusinessObjects Release Notes are providing insight in the fixes that have been applied for a particular Service Pack / FixPack / Patch. (FixPacks are related to the XI platform / Patches are related to the BI Platform)
Every Service Pack is supported by a number of FixPacks/Patches to resolve issues identified and resolved. The release notes list the issues that have been fixed within an individual Patch. The release notes also contains know issues within the software to inform you openly on known limitations or issues.
When to use the Release Notes?
In case a you are planning to apply a Minor Release, Support Pack or Critical Patch, SAP strongly recommends to review the Release Notes of the corresponding maintenance vehicle.
It is your responsibility to validate if a issue is indeed resolved in the planned patch for the system before they implement this. Additionally new know issues that are documented may impact your SAP BusinessObjects environment. If there are no issues fixed by a Critical Patch, it is not recommended to apply a patch.
